Pleasant Company vs Mattel

What do you think was better ? 

Personally I say it depends on the item.


For example best Mattel item would be Rebecca's phonograph. It reminds me little bit of the sort of stuff done in the pleasantcompany era. 

Even if it's made of cheaper stuff.

Personally it's a big YMMV. Some Mattel items do look decent, but then again things weren't plasticky or ersatz back in the day; Mattel pretty much had no choice but to cheapen things either due to cost or regulatory reasons.

Sad but true.

Also I miss when they had made the character themed cook books.

Sure the new cook books are nice, but the themed cookbooks with the historical facts were lots of fun.
